Greetings and welcome to the 2009 Covered Bridge Regatta.
We are excited to have you attend and have the following preliminary information for you.
The date for this years’ regatta is Saturday, April 11, 2009 . We encourage you to arrive on Friday, April 10th to unload boats and equipment and maybe take a practice row. Overnight security at the park will be provided.
You may also wish to join us for our first annual "The Dexter Dash ... and Dinner" on Friday, April 10th in the late afternoon (details below).
As in years past, we will have events for juniors, masters and collegiate rowers. A preliminary schedule of events is available at RegattaCentral. The final schedule will be completed following the closure of entries on April 1st.
We strongly encourage clubs and schools to bring motor launches and drivers. This has been an incredible help in the past and we need you again this year. We do reimburse for fuel!
One highlight of the Regatta will be the awarding of the Ed Offchiss Memorial Trophy in the Men’s Masters Single event. Ed was an OAR member who passed away during the 2003 “Row for the Cure” in Portland. Another will be the presentation of Team Points Trophies—to the junior and collegiate teams that accumulate the most points earned in regatta competition that day.
